Twitter came in as a life line of immediate up to date information. With children living in NYC, and friends up and down the East Coast Twitter hashtags, #Sandy #SandyNYC #SandyRI kept my family informed with images, video, emergency information, and news. Running out to my car to charge my iphone every now and then wasn’t a big deal when it kept us up to date.
I have been using Twitter for the last year as a professional learning network as well, and it has enriched my teaching and learning in ways that I never thought possible. Art Educators, Librarians, Principals, Science Educators, Museums, Technology Educators and many more are all on Twitter conversing and sharing. It’s been such a rich experience to be a part of. During Sandy it became a useful Life line tool!
